The Story of Himaz Properties

In her own words — Hajiya Hauwa, Founder

The story of Himaz began with a simple investment and a dream that took years to become a reality.

Around 2005, I acquired about two hectares of land in Mbamba Koji, Yola South LGA, for ₦70,000. I could only afford ₦50,000 at the time, so I paid the balance two years later. That experience taught me an important lesson:

“You don’t need to have everything before you start — you just need the courage to start.”

In 2010, when the Kofare layouts were created during the administration of Admiral Murtala Nyako, I began buying and selling some of the allocated properties that owners wanted to sell. What started as personal investments gradually grew into a passion for real estate.

The name HIMAZ had been created almost 20 years earlier from our own names — mine and my children’s: Hauwa, Isa, Maryam, Ahmad and Zainab. For years, the name existed as Himaz Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, while the dream of establishing a full company continued to grow.

Eventually, a conversation with Musdan Mustapha at Almusdan Car Painting encouraged me and Isa to take the final step. He reminded us that establishing a proper company would give people greater confidence to invest with us.

And that was the beginning of Himaz Properties.

What started with one small investment, patience, and a family dream has grown into a real estate journey built on vision, trust, perseverance, and the belief that every great legacy begins with a single step.

Himaz is not just a name. It is a family dream that became a business — and a vision that continues to grow.
